Rehearsals to restart on 6th September
ABERDEEN CHORAL SOCIETYDetails for the session September – December 2021
We are planning to meet on:
Sept 6, 13, 20, 27, Oct 4, 11, 18, 25, Nov 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Dec 6 and 13
Whilst there continues to be restrictions and until further notice, we will meet for 1 hour only from 7.30 to 8.30.
The number of people allowed to use the hall at any one time is restricted to 36. For this reason we will begin by meeting in the Sanctuary but on 19th Sept, 11th Oct, 1st and 29th Nov the Sanctuary will be used by another group and we will have to use the hall. We may need to restrict numbers on these occasions.
Please bring your copy of the Messiah. At the moment the plan is to hold a Christmas concert using some parts of Messiah, some Christmas songs and readings. Date and location of this is still to be decided.
Please respect and observe Queen Cross’ safety arrangements such as one way traffic, use of sanitizers on entrance and follow any instructions signed around the premises.
You might find it useful to bring your own hand sanitizer.
Meeting safely during Covid
Following the example of other choral groups the following “rules” will apply.
Masks must be worn at all times. We have a supply of rigid inserts which go inside the mask to hold it away from the face and make singing more comfortable.
1 metre social distancing at all times. The chairs will be set out 1 m apart and you should remain on your chair throughout the time you are in the rehearsal room..
Please observe the 1 m rule at all times in the building and especially when entering the rehearsal space and when leaving it.
There can be no sharing of music. We will organise a supply of photocopies for music other than the Messiah.
You must have your own pencil.
Paul and Harry will also wear masks and will be 3 m away from the front row.
Chairs will be wiped down at the end of each rehearsal and removed to the storage area by the occupant. Please be careful to observe social distancing during this manoeuvre.
Doors (and windows where possible) will be opened to allow a flow of fresh air. Please dress to ensure your survival no matter the temperature.
Remember to bring your own drink if you feel that you will need it.
The toilets will be available though please remember to observe the 1 metre rule when moving around and particularly if you find it necessary to queue.
Test and Track Requirements
We are required to keep a record of everybody who attends so there will be a signing in sheet.
Contact will be through our normal email list so make sure to write your email address on the sheet if you think we don’t already have it.
If you develop Covid symptoms at any time please contact the Choral through email..
We will email all who have attended to give you all an alert to possible infection.
If you have a positive test result, whether you have already reported symptoms or not, please again contact us by email.
We will email all reports of a positive test and you should respond by following whatever guidelines the Scottish Government have in place at the time.
Obviously, we will not identify the member with symptoms or a positive test.
We are grateful to have received support from Making Music. We are also generously supported by Friends of Aberdeen Choral Society.
